Sylvie Renggli
I was born in what was then Czechoslovakia, where I went by the name Zahorsky as a child. I came to Switzerland as a teenager, and since then it has been my home and the starting point for my artistic work.
Here I attended a private art school with a focus on Impressionism. During the semester breaks, I traveled to Tuscany with international students, where we painted the landscape and studied the changing light.
For a time, I immersed myself intensively in the classical studies of Leonardo da Vinci: I copied almost all of his famous drapery studies. This discipline sharpened my eye for light, depth, and fundamentals, which are still evident in my work today.
My paintings soon found collectors, demand grew, and at times I maintained a waiting list. Over a hundred of my works now hang in private collections and architectural projects, all under the name Renggli.
But for me, that was only the beginning. Today, I no longer want to merely produce; I want to go deeper. Today there are fewer works, but they are created in dialogue with space, architecture, and light.
